Google created a version of ear buds called Google Pixel Buds. Since their release they have been updated with newer options. The Google Pixel Buds operate like normal ear buds, and they also will work with Google Assistant on Pixel Phones, Android phones, and iPhones, (albeit not as seamlessly on certain features as they will on Pixel phones). One interesting thing is that they also work with Google Translate. Although Google Translate is not perfect it will work with basic language interpretations.
In a real world situation for language translation the Google Pixel Buds can be connected to an Android phone (non Pixel phones will need to download and use the Google Translate App instead of Google Assistant for this feature). The wearer can then ask a question in their native language which will be interpreted onto the phone in the language chosen for the recipient. Then the phone can be shown to the recipient, and they can respond in their native language. That response will be translated back into the wearer’s language and shared through the pixel buds. So the wearer can communicate with a person who does not speak their language (at least on a basic level). That is an amazing and smart use of technology.
