Carnival

As the weather cools the festival and event calendar begins to fill. Across the state there are many great places to enjoy the weather and activities. To make sure you are ready to enjoy what is available in October, please review the guide below and plan to participate as your schedule allows.
  1. Alabama National Fair – September 28 – October 8 – Montgomery, AL – Traditional fair with rides, competitions, music and more.
  2. Alabama Adventure – Every Saturday and Sunday in October – Bessemer, AL –  Alabama Adventure is holding their 1st Annual Fall Festival from 12-6. Each weekend will have a different special event and non-waterpark rides will be open.
  3. 62nd Annual Central Alabama Fair – October 2-6 – Selma, AL – Traditional fair with rides, competitions, music and more.
  4. Cullman Oktoberfest – October 3-6 – Cullman, AL There is a variety of food, beverages and fun available this week in Cullman centered on Oktoberfest. On Saturday there will be arts, crafts and entertainment.
  5. Cullman County Fair – October 4-13 – Cullman, AL – Traditional fair with rides, contests, music and more.
  6. Moundville Native American Festival – October 3-6 – Moundville, AL – Native American performers, craft work, music, food and children’s activities.
  7. Birmingham Greek Festival – October 4-6 – Held at The Holy Trinity – Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral Christian Church in downtown Birmingham – You can enjoy Greek cuisine, music and a marketplace every day.
  8. Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention – October 4-6 – Athens, AL – Fiddle competition, national acts, arts and crafts
  9. Alabama Butterbean Festival – October 5-6 – Pinson, AL – Enjoy food, music, vendors and carnival rides at the festival.
  10. Alabama Frog Level Festival – October 5-6 – Fayette, AL – Music, car show, arts and crafts, food.
  11. Boaz Harvest Festival – October 5-6 – Boaz, AL – Car show and swap meeting along with over 200 arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities and other entertainment options.
  12. Centre Fall Festival – October 6 – Centre, AL – Entertainment, arts and crafts, food and fun.
  13. Ozark Arts and Crafts Show – October 5-7 – Ozark, AL – Enjoy arts and crafts along with food and children’s entertainment.
  14. Auburn Oktoberfest – October 6 – Ag Heritage Park in Auburn, AL – Enjoy a large variety of beverages, food, music and other activities.
  15. Bluff Park Art Show – October 6 – Hoover, AL – Fine art, food, children’s activities.
  16. Brazilian Day Festival – October 6 – Vestavia Hills – Music, food and kid’s zone.
  17. Oktoberfest – October 6 – Moody, AL – Annual arts and crafts festival along with live music, food and children’s activities.
  18. Oxfordfest – October 6 – Oxford, AL – Arts and crafts, entertainment, food and children’s activities.
  19. Old Fashion Day – October 6 – Sulligent, AL – Food, entertainment, arts and crafts.
  20. The Frog Fest – October 6 – Sumiton, AL – Vendors, crafts, music, food and fun.
  21. Florian Oktoberfest – October 6-7 – St. Florian, AL – Enjoy a car and tractor show, live music, bbq competition, vendors and children’s entertainment.
  22. Madison Street Festival – October 6 – Madison, AL – Come see the parade, car show, artists, vendors, music, food, beverages and children’s activities.
  23. Autauga County Fair – October 9-13 – Prattville, AL – Traditional fair with rides, competitions, music and more.
  24. 47th Annual National Shrimp Festival – October 11-14 – Gulf Shores, AL – This festival is not only about shrimp, but also much more. Attend and see several days of live music, fine arts, crafts, children’s activities, a 5k race and shopping. Visit the beach and enjoy the festival.
  25. Butler Fest – October 12-13 – Butler, AL – Over 75 food and craft vendors, along with a Kansas City Sanctioned BBQ competition, music, running and fun.
  26. 26th Annual Alabama Cotton Festival – October 13 – Eclectic, AL – Art and photo contests accompanied by a children’s area, music, vendors and food.
  27. 47th Annual Headland Harvest Festival – October 13 – Headland, AL – Arts and crafts, children’s activities, music, food and a car show are in store for attendees.
  28. 38th Annual Oktoberfest – October 13 – Alexander City, AL – Arts and crafts, food and music greet you at this festival.
  29. Blountsville Harvest Festival – October 13 – Blountsville, AL – Tractor and car show, food, entertainment and children’s activities.
  30. Indian Summer Festival – October 13 – Eufaula, AL – Animal shows, children’s activities, food, arts and crafts, car show, fun.
  31. Oak Grove Family Fall Festival – October 13 – Oak Grove, AL – Music, food, crafts and fun.
  32. 2018 Oktoberfest Trussville – October 13 – Trussville, AL – Food, music, vendors, children’s options and fun.
  33. Thorsby Swedish Festival – October 13 – Thorsby, AL – Parade, beauty pageant, car show, Viking run, vendors and more to enjoy.
  34. Greek Fest Mobile 2018 – October 18-20 – Mobile, AL – Faith, food and fun.
  35. 22nd Annual Pig Iron BBQ Challenge – October 19th – Hoover, AL at the Hoover Met RV Park – This is a corporate bbq contest benefiting Children’s Harbor. Food, music, children’s activities and fun.
  36. Atalla Heritage Day – October 20 – Atalla, AL – Arts and crafts, entertainment, car show, food and children’s activities.
  37. Evergreen Sausage Festival – October 20 – Evergreen, AL – Bbq competition, vendors, children’s activities, rodeo and fun.
  38. 47th Annual Kentuck Festival of the Arts – October 20-21 – Northport, AL – See world class folk art, hear spoken word performances, enjoy food and entertain children.
  39. Colorfest 2018 – October 20-21 – Mentone, AL – Arts and crafts, boating, live music, carriage rides, children’s activities, food, breathtaking views and fun.

  45. 35th Covered Bridge Festival – October 27 – Oneonta, AL – Art, music, crafts, fun.
  46. Alabama Renaissance Faire – October 27-28 – Florence, AL – Step back in time to the Renaissance era.
  47. Boll Weevil Fall Festival – October 27 – Enterprise, AL – Food, crafts, entertainment, children’s costume contest, etc.
  48. Pioneer Day – October 27 – Grove Hill, AL – Demonstrations of a variety of things such as syrup making, soap making, etc.
  49. The Elberta Sausage Festival – October 27 – Elberta, AL – Join 20,000 of your close friends at the festival while munching on sausage and sauerkraut. Additionally see arts and crafts while enjoying music.
